4.5 Professional Learning Facilitator

ISTE Standard 4.5 for coaches addresses what it means to organize and develop meaningful professional learning experiences for educators, especially in relation to technology integration.  Coaches are not only asked to think critically about how they facilitate professional learning, they are meant to reflect on how effective the learning was in order to improve efforts in the future. Each substandard provides evidence for having met standard 4.5 through written investigations and applied learning.

ISTE Standard 4.5 reads: Coaches plan, provide and evaluate the impact of professional learning for educators and leaders to use technology to advance teaching and learning. 

Coaches:

4.5a Design professional learning based on needs assessments and frameworks for working with adults to support their cultural, social-emotional and learning needs.

4.5b Build the capacity of educators, leaders and instructional teams to put the ISTE Standards into practice by facilitating active learning and providing meaningful feedback.

4.5c Evaluate the impact of professional learning and continually make improvements in order to meet the schoolwide vision for using technology for high-impact teaching and learning.
